Cardamom is the nicest national park in Camobia. Koh Kong region was until 2007 completely separated from the rest of the country and was more Thailand oriented. Thailand then sponsored to make the road connecting it to the rest of Cambodia which was a smart way to get to it's wood, as Thailand almost has no wood anymore. 4 bridges over rivers had to be build and eversince the road is done, the ancient ferry boat operating from Koh Kong over smugglar island Koh S'Dach to Sihanoukville's port canceled it's service.
Cardamom has some accommodation on Tatai river from where trekking tours are offered. Be aware when going the road from Koh Kong direction Sihanoukville/Phnom Penh, the first around 100km there is no single house nor anything else when having a flat tire.
Whole National parks and the last single tree will disappear in Cambodiia until 2020. It's driven by the corrupt government of prime minister Hun Sen, his elite and military forces and the giant Malayan logging company APP. The tropical wood disappears illegal to Thailand and Vietnam and ends as well over Chinese companies in our clean western homes.
